Triage
The triage nurse has gone through extensive training in order to determine what your medical needs are for this visit. They will be able to order labs, procedures or x-ray that you will need to have done. By getting your lab work done before your exam your provider will already have your clinical information and laboratory results. That will enable them to treat you immediately. Our all-in-one-visit care will save you time.
Some of what we treat
Blood Pressure
The AAFP strongly recommends a standard blood pressure target of less than 140/90 to reduce the risks of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality.
Blood Sugar
A fasting blood sugar level less than 100 is normal. For your diabetes care, you may see your primary care provider or specialist 2 - 4 times a year.
Fever
Fever in a child is generally defined as a temperature over 100.4 rectally, over 99.5 orally or over 98.6 anxillary (armpit). The average normal oral body temerature is 98.6 but individuals vary as much as 1 higher to 2 lower.
Well Child Checks & Immunizations
Children are monitored by height, weight, head circumference and motor development. This assures a child is growing and developing at the pace of an average child their age. By monitoring the above things, any growth or developmental problems can be detected at the earliest possible age.
Your child needs immunizations to protect against many serious contagious childhood diseases. Many children are needlessly catching dangerous diseases like measles, whooping cough, hepatitis and meningitis. Immunizations at the right times, could prevent these serious or even fatal illnesses from occurring.
Some vaccinations are combined to protect against more than one disease. Your child needs vaccines to stay healthy. Mild reactions to the immunization may occur. Serious reactions may also occur but are rare.
The risks, should your child get one of these dangerous childhood diseases, are far greater than the risk of a serious reaction from an immunization.
Immunizations are a very important part of you child's total health care. Ask your pediatrician or triage nurse if your child has received the necessary vaccinations to protect them from the mentioned illnesses. Your pediatrician may also have information about new vaccines that can protect your child against certain illnesses and diseases.
